Card Care & Storage
Card Care & Storage covers the physical side of collecting: handling, sleeving, storing and displaying cards so they keep their condition. The six guides are practical and precise, with measurements and step-by-step methods rather than general warnings.
Two guides deal with the first layer of protection. "How to Sleeve a Card Without Touching the Face" shows how to handle a card only by the small margin a grader does not score, and how to slide it into a sleeve cleanly. "How to Choose Between a Penny Sleeve and a Perfect Fit" compares the dimensions of each sleeve against a standard card and explains what the extra room is for. "How to Choose a Binder That Will Not Damage the Pages" explains how ring shape causes dents, which way pockets should open and what to look for when buying. "How to Store Cards in a Room That Gets Damp" explains where humidity actually collects in a room, why an outside wall is the worst spot, and how to set up storage to cope.
The two display guides are by Poppy. "How to Display Slabs Without Fading Them" explains that a slab seals a card but does not filter light, and shows how to estimate the light exposure in your own room and choose UV-filtering glazing. "How to Frame a Raw Card Safely" covers keeping an air gap between card and glass and never letting adhesive touch the card.
Card Care & Storage sits under Trading Card Games in the HowTo Gaming menu. It has 3 sections: Sleeves & Toploaders, Binders & Boxes and Slab & Card Display.
