How to Install Microsoft 365 on a New Windows PC

Step by step
Access your Microsoft account dashboard
Open your preferred web browser and navigate to office.com. Click the Sign In button and provide the email address and password associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription.
Note: Ensure you are using the account that holds the active subscription license.Initiate the software download
Once logged in, locate the Install apps button in the top-right corner of the dashboard. Select Microsoft 365 apps from the dropdown menu to start the download of the executable installer.
Run the Microsoft 365 installer
Locate the downloaded OfficeSetup.exe file in your Downloads folder. Double-click the file to launch the installer and click Yes if prompted by User Account Control to allow changes to your device.
Complete the background installation
The installer will display a progress bar as it fetches and installs the necessary components. Do not close the window or disconnect your internet connection until the final notification appears.
Note: Installation time varies based on internet speed; the system remains usable during this process.Sign in to activate the license
Once the installation finishes, open any application such as Word or Excel. When prompted, sign in with your Microsoft credentials to automatically activate the software and link it to your subscription.
Note: Automatic activation usually happens if you are already signed into Windows with the same Microsoft account.
