Step by step
Identify your hardware model
Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter. Locate 'BaseBoard Manufacturer' and 'BaseBoard Product' to determine your motherboard model, or check your laptop's specific serial number sticker.
Note: Recording these details is essential to prevent downloading incompatible driver packages.Download the latest chipset driver
Navigate to the official support website for your hardware manufacturer. Search for your specific model, locate the 'Drivers & Tools' section, and download the latest Chipset Driver package verified for Windows 11.
Note: Always obtain drivers directly from the manufacturer to avoid bundled malware or outdated software.Extract the installation files
Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder. If the file is compressed, right-click the folder and select 'Extract All', then choose a destination to save the contents.
Run the installer as Administrator
Open the extracted folder and locate the 'Setup.exe' or 'AsusSetup.exe' file. Right-click the file and select 'Run as administrator' to grant the installer necessary system permissions.
Note: Confirm the User Account Control (UAC) prompt if it appears on your screen.Complete the installation process
Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the driver installation wizard. Once the progress bar reaches completion, click 'Finish' to exit the setup utility.
Restart your system
Click the Start button, select the Power icon, and choose 'Restart'. Rebooting forces Windows to finalize the driver registry changes and initialize the updated hardware components.
Note: Do not skip the restart, as some changes only take effect after the kernel reloads the driver stack.
