Step by step

  1. 1 min

    Force stop the camera application

Open Settings and navigate to Apps. Select Camera from the list and tap Force Stop to terminate all active processes associated with the camera software.

Note: This clears temporary software hangs without deleting your user data.
  2. 1 min

    Clear the camera app cache

Within the same Camera app settings menu, tap Storage & Cache. Select Clear Cache to remove corrupted temporary files that may be preventing the camera from initializing.

  3. 1 min

    Verify camera permission settings

Go to Settings, select Apps, and choose Camera. Tap Permissions and ensure Camera is listed under Allowed. If it is restricted, move it to the Allowed category.

Note: Denied permissions are a primary cause of black screen errors upon launch.
  4. 1 min

    Perform a hardware diagnostic test

Restart your device in Safe Mode to determine if a third-party application is interfering with camera hardware. Hold the power button, long-press the Power Off icon, and select Reboot to Safe Mode.

Note: If the camera functions in Safe Mode, a recently installed app is likely causing the conflict.
  5. 1 min

    Install available system updates

Navigate to Settings, then System, and tap Software Update. Install any pending patches to ensure camera drivers and security modules are current.

Note: Always maintain the latest firmware to avoid incompatibility with system-level API changes.
