JT
Founder, The HowTo Network
JT is the founder of The How To Network. He doesn’t run a lane — he runs the whole thing: the writers, the standard, the long game. This summer that meant writing the field guide to every one of the sixteen World Cup host cities. And, from time to time, the one essay he can’t file anywhere else.
The How To Network started as a reaction. Too much of the internet is performance — hacks that don’t survive contact with a real trip, advice from people who’ve never had to use it. I wanted the opposite. Guides written by people who’ve actually been there, in plain language, with nothing to sell you.
On the Travel side, that meant something specific this summer: a field guide to every one of the sixteen World Cup host cities — where to be, what to eat, what the city actually feels like when the world shows up. I hire for that standard. I edit for it. And once in a while, when a trip refuses to stay quiet, I write for it too.
He talked about Scotland for thirty years and never went. This is about the journeys we keep meaning to take — and the weekend you still have to change that.
Let me be clear about what this isn’t. I’m not a travel agent, and nothing here is a booking. I’m the founder. My job is the network — the writers, the standard, the long game.
But the World Cup guides I write under my own name are the closest I get to doing the work myself — sixteen cities, what each one actually feels like when the world shows up. And once in a while, on the same side, I write the thing that’s harder to say out loud.
So this page isn’t a beat or an archive. It’s just me, and mine. When something matters enough to write down, you’ll find it here.
And if something here resonates with you, I’m glad — truly. But I’ll be honest with you: some of these I write mostly for me.
If there’s somewhere you’ve been meaning to go — go. Not someday. While the people you’d tell about it are still around to hear the story.
