    Connect the display hardware

Plug the video cable into your secondary monitor and then into an available output port on your PC's graphics card or motherboard. Ensure both the monitor and PC are powered on. Windows 11 will automatically detect the new display.

Note: Use the same cable type for both monitors when possible to ensure consistent refresh rates.

    Access Display settings

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop and select Display settings from the context menu. Alternatively, navigate to Settings > System > Display using the Start menu.

    Note: Windows Key + I

    Verify display detection

Click the Identify button near the top of the display menu. A large number will appear on each connected monitor, indicating which display is assigned to which identification number.

    Position the displays

Click and drag the numbered rectangles in the display layout grid to match the physical placement of your monitors on your desk. Click Apply to confirm the new spatial orientation for cursor movement.

Note: Align the bottom edges of the rectangles to ensure smooth mouse movement between screens.
  5. 1 min

    Set the display mode

Select a display from the grid, scroll down to the Multiple displays dropdown menu, and choose your preferred mode. Select Extend these displays to treat the second monitor as a separate, expanded desktop.

Note: Choose Duplicate these displays if you need to mirror your primary screen for presentations.
  6. 1 min

    Optimize resolution and scale

With the secondary display selected, verify the Scale and Display resolution settings are set to Recommended. This ensures text and UI elements appear at the correct size for the monitor's native hardware capabilities.

Note: If the monitor appears blurry, ensure the resolution matches the manufacturer's specified native pixel count.
