Step by step
Enable cross-device syncing
Open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to Focus. Ensure the Share Across Devices toggle is enabled to allow your Apple Watch to inherit the Focus state from your iPhone.
Note: This ensures that activating a mode like Sleep or Work on your phone automatically triggers it on your watch.Open the Control Center
Raise your wrist to wake the Apple Watch display. Press the side button once to reveal the Control Center, where your active Focus status icon is displayed.
Note: If you do not see the icon, swipe up or down to navigate the Control Center list.Toggle your active Focus mode
Tap the Focus icon within the Control Center to view available modes. Select any mode from the list to activate it, or tap the active mode to disable it immediately.
Note: The icon color changes to indicate the status is active.Set a duration for your Focus
Tap the three dots (More) icon next to a mode in the Focus menu. Choose between 'For 1 hour', 'Until I leave', or 'Until the end of this event' to automate your status duration.
Note: These duration options rely on your location and calendar data.Define Smart Activation
On your iPhone, select a specific Focus mode and tap Add Schedule. Configure Smart Activation to let your watch predict when you need a specific mode based on your usage patterns.
Note: Smart Activation effectively automates your workflow without manual intervention.
