- You will need
- Paired smartphone, stable Wi-Fi network, official companion app
Step by step
Confirm firmware and software parity
Open the companion app on your smartphone and navigate to General > Software Update. Ensure the wearable and the handset are running the latest stable firmware versions to prevent protocol mismatches.
Note: A mismatch in software versions often causes intermittent Bluetooth disconnections.Validate sensor calibration
Navigate to the Health or Privacy settings within the companion app. Verify that permissions for Motion & Fitness and Heart Rate sensors are set to Always allow.
Note: Denying these permissions will result in null data points during activity tracking.Test notification mirroring
Go to Settings > Notifications on your phone and ensure the app for your wearable has Mirror My iPhone enabled. Send a test alert to confirm that haptic feedback registers on the wrist device.
Review battery optimization settings
Access the Battery usage menu on the wearable. Confirm that background app refresh is enabled for essential health apps while disabled for non-critical secondary applications.
Note: Disabling background refresh for unnecessary apps extends battery life by approximately 15 percent.Execute a hard reboot
Perform a force restart by holding the side button and the digital crown simultaneously for ten seconds until the manufacturer logo appears. This forces the device to re-index all system services and cache files.
Note: Do not skip this step; it clears lingering processes from the initial pairing sequence.
