  2. 30 sec

    Open the Watch app

Unlock your iPhone and open the Watch app. If you are already paired with another watch, tap All Watches at the top left of the screen and select Add Watch.

  3. 1 min

    Scan the pairing animation

Select Set Up for Myself within the app. Position your iPhone so the Apple Watch appears in the viewfinder of the camera. The devices will automatically detect each other and initiate the handshake.

  4. 1 min

Restore or set up as new

Choose whether to restore your watch from a previous backup or select Set Up as New Apple Watch. This selection determines if your previous settings, apps, and watch faces will be transferred.

    Sign in with Apple ID

Enter your Apple ID password when prompted. This step is required to activate Activation Lock and enable services such as Find My and Apple Pay.

  6. 1 min

    Configure preferences
