Step by step

  1. 15 sec

    Open the Home Screen

Press the Digital Crown once to navigate to your app Home Screen. If you are already within an application, the Digital Crown acts as your primary navigation tool to return to the root view.

  2. 10 sec

    Enter Layout Selection mode

Firmly press and hold on any empty space within the Home Screen. Do not press an app icon, as this will trigger the 'Edit Apps' mode instead.

Note: Ensure you are using a firm, steady press to activate the context menu.
  3. 10 sec

    Select your preferred layout

Tap either Grid View or List View from the menu options that appear on the screen. The change will apply immediately to your interface.

  4. 5 sec

    Confirm the interface change

Observe the Home Screen transition. List View organizes icons alphabetically in a vertical scrolling format, while Grid View displays them in a honeycomb pattern.

Note: List view is generally more efficient for users with many installed applications.
  5. 30 sec

    Change via Settings

Navigate to Settings on your Apple Watch. Scroll down to select App View, then tap either Grid View or List View to finalize your preference.

Note: Changes made in Settings sync instantly and serve as an alternative to the gesture-based method.
