Step by step

  1. 30 sec

    Navigate to the Battery menu

Press the Digital Crown to open your app grid. Select the Settings app, indicated by the gear icon. Scroll down and tap on Battery to view current usage statistics.

Note: Ensure your watch is running the latest software version for the most accurate metrics.
  2. 1 min

    Enable Low Power Mode

Within the Battery menu, toggle the switch for Low Power Mode to the On position. This reduces background heart rate measurements and notifications to preserve charge. Confirm your selection if prompted by the system.

Note: Low Power Mode automatically disables Always-On display functionality.
  3. 1 min

    Inspect battery health

Tap the Battery Health option below the usage graph. This menu displays the maximum capacity of your battery relative to when it was new. Values below 80 percent may indicate the need for service.

Note: Battery health degradation is a normal process of lithium-ion aging.
  4. 45 sec

    Modify display settings

Return to the main Settings menu and select Display & Brightness. Adjust the brightness slider to a lower level or toggle Always On to Off. A dim display significantly reduces power draw.

Note: Using Auto-Brightness helps the device balance power usage based on ambient light.
  5. 1 min

    Restrict background app refresh

Navigate to Settings, then General, and select Background App Refresh. Disable this feature for apps that do not require real-time updates. This prevents unnecessary radio usage and processing in the background.

Note: Restrict refresh permissions only for apps you rarely use.
