Step by step

  1. 1 min

    Inspect the microphone intake

Locate the microphone port on your wearable device; it is typically a small, pin-sized hole on the casing. Use a dry, soft-bristled brush or a microfiber cloth to gently remove debris or lint. Do not use compressed air, as this may damage the internal acoustic membrane.

Note: Avoid using metal objects to probe the hole, as this can puncture the microphone seal.
  2. 1 min

    Verify software permissions

Open Settings on your paired smartphone and navigate to Privacy & Security. Select Microphone to view a list of applications with access. Ensure the wearable companion application or the specific app experiencing audio issues is toggled to the On position.

Note: If the permission is already enabled, toggle it off and back on to refresh the handshake.
  3. 2 min

    Power cycle the device

Perform a hard restart on the wearable device to clear temporary cache files. Press and hold the primary side button and the digital crown simultaneously for 10 seconds. Release when the screen turns black and the manufacturer logo appears.

Note: A power cycle forces the Bluetooth module to re-initialize its connection state.
  4. 1 min

    Refresh the Bluetooth connection

Navigate to the Bluetooth settings menu on your smartphone. Find your wearable device in the list of connected hardware, select the information icon, and choose Forget This Device. Toggle your smartphone's Bluetooth off, wait five seconds, turn it back on, and re-pair the wearable through the companion application.

Note: Ensure your smartphone is within 3 feet of the wearable during the re-pairing process.
  5. 1 min

    Perform a recording test

Open the native Voice Memo or Recorder application on your wearable device. Record a five-second clip while speaking directly toward the microphone intake. Play back the audio to confirm that the input level is consistent and free of digital distortion or excessive background noise.

Note: If the audio remains silent, ensure the device volume is set above 50 percent during playback.
