How to Share Your Wi-Fi Password from iPhone

Step by step

1. 30 sec

   Verify proximity and settings

   Ensure both devices are unlocked, placed within range, and have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggled on. Confirm the owner of the network has your contact information saved in their Contacts app.

   Note: Disable Personal Hotspot on both devices to prevent connection conflicts.
2. 15 sec

   Select the network on the guest device

   On the device attempting to join the network, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the name of the network you wish to join.

3. 15 sec

   Confirm the share prompt

   A prompt will appear on the host device displaying the network name and asking if you want to share the password. Tap Share Password to authorize the connection.

   Note: If the prompt does not appear, ensure both devices are updated to the latest iOS or iPadOS version.
4. 10 sec

   Complete the connection

   Once the password is transmitted, the guest device will automatically populate the field and connect to the network. Tap Done on the host device to dismiss the confirmation screen.
