Step by step

  1. 30 sec

    Open Privacy and Security settings

Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security to access the central repository for app permissions.

  2. 30 sec

    Access the Bluetooth permission list

Tap the Bluetooth option within the Privacy & Security menu. This displays a list of every app installed on your device that has previously requested or currently holds permission to use Bluetooth.

Note: If an app is not listed here, it has not requested Bluetooth access.
  3. 1 min

    Disable access for specific applications

Review the list of apps carefully. Toggle the switch to the off position for any application that does not require Bluetooth functionality for its primary purpose.

Note: Disabling Bluetooth for a music app may prevent it from connecting to your wireless headphones.
  4. 1 min

    Reset privacy settings if necessary

If you suspect malicious activity, navigate back to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone. Tap Reset and choose Reset Location & Privacy to revoke all existing app permissions.

Note: This will revert all apps to their default permission state and require you to re-approve access upon next launch.
  5. 30 sec

    Verify current Bluetooth usage

Swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center. Check the Bluetooth icon; if it is illuminated, verify that only authorized devices are actively connected.

Note: Long-press the connectivity block to view the list of currently connected devices.
