Step by step

  1. 1 min

    Increase system font size

Open the Settings app and navigate to Display & Brightness. Tap Text Size and drag the slider to the right to increase the font scale for supported apps.

Note: For even larger text, go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text.
  2. 30 sec

    Enable Bold Text

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness. Toggle the Bold Text switch to On. Your iPhone will restart the springboard to apply this change to all system fonts.

  3. 1 min

    Increase display contrast

Navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Toggle Increase Contrast to On to improve the visual separation between text and backgrounds.

Note: This setting also reduces transparency in backgrounds, making text overlays easier to read.
  4. 30 sec

    Enable Differentiate Without Color

In the Display & Text Size menu, toggle Differentiate Without Color to On. This replaces interface elements that rely solely on color with shapes and text labels.

  5. 1 min

    Activate Per-App Settings

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Per-App Settings. Tap Add App, select your desired application, tap the entry, and choose Larger Text or Bold Text to customize specific app readability without affecting the entire system.

Note: This is ideal if only your browser or email client requires higher legibility.
