Connect to Wi-Fi or cellular
Tap your Wi-Fi network name and enter the password. If you don't have Wi-Fi access, tap 'Use Cellular Connection' to activate using your carrier's network. Wait for the connection to establish before proceeding.
Note: Use Wi-Fi when possible to avoid cellular data charges during setup and app downloads.Set up Face ID or Touch ID
Position your face in the camera frame and slowly move your head in a circle to complete the first scan. Tap 'Continue' and repeat the process for the second scan. For Touch ID models, place your finger on the home button multiple times from different angles.
Note: Set up an alternate appearance in Face ID settings if you frequently wear glasses or masks.Create a passcode
Enter a six-digit passcode when prompted. Re-enter the same passcode to confirm. For enhanced security, tap 'Passcode Options' to create a custom alphanumeric code or four-digit numeric code.
Note: Avoid easily guessed combinations like 123456 or your birthday.Transfer or restore your data
Choose 'Restore from iCloud Backup' if you have a previous backup, 'Restore from Mac or PC' if you use iTunes/Finder backups, or 'Transfer Directly from iPhone' to copy from your old device. Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in and select your backup.
Note: Quick Start allows you to transfer data by placing your old iPhone next to your new one and following the prompts.Sign in with your Apple ID
Enter your Apple ID email and password. If you don't have an Apple ID, tap 'Create Free Apple ID' and follow the prompts. Verify your identity using two-factor authentication when prompted.
Note: Use the same Apple ID across all your devices to sync purchases, photos, and settings automatically.Configure Siri and Screen Time
Choose whether to enable Siri by tapping 'Enable Siri' or 'Set Up Later.' Record the requested phrases if you enable Siri. Set up Screen Time limits or tap 'Set Up Later in Settings' to configure parental controls and app usage tracking later.
Note: Enable Siri for hands-free control, especially useful while driving or when your hands are busy.Finish setup and update iOS
Tap 'Get Started' to complete the initial setup process. Open Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install the latest iOS version. Connect to a charger if the battery is below 50% before updating.
Note: Enable automatic updates in Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates to keep your iPhone secure.
