Step by step
Enable iCloud Keychain synchronization
Open the Settings app and tap your Apple ID banner at the top. Select iCloud, then tap Passwords & Keychain. Ensure the toggle for Sync this iPhone is set to On to encrypt and sync your credentials across all your trusted devices.
Note: Synchronization requires two-factor authentication to be enabled on your Apple ID.Activate Stolen Device Protection
Navigate to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Enter your device passcode when prompted. Locate the Stolen Device Protection section and tap Turn On Protection to require biometric authentication for password changes and Keychain access in unfamiliar locations.
Note: This feature enforces a security delay when attempting to modify sensitive security settings.Audit compromised passwords
Go to Settings > Passwords. Tap Security Recommendations. Review any entries flagged as compromised or reused and follow the prompts to update them immediately on the source website.
Note: iOS automatically identifies passwords that have appeared in known data leaks.Require Face ID for password access
In the Passwords settings menu, ensure the Password Options toggle is set to allow auto-fill. By default, iOS requires Face ID or your device passcode before revealing any password stored in the Keychain.
Remove unauthorized trusted devices
In Settings, tap your Apple ID banner to view your device list. Select any device you no longer recognize or own. Tap Remove from Account to revoke its access to your iCloud Keychain.
Note: Removing a device immediately invalidates its ability to sync or decrypt your Keychain data.
