Open Finder or the Apple Devices app
On macOS, open a new Finder window and locate your iPad in the sidebar under 'Locations.' On Windows, launch the Apple Devices app and select your iPad from the sidebar.

Click on your iPad icon in the sidebar to reveal the management interface. Ensure you are on the 'General' tab to view your backup settings.
Enable Encrypt local backup
Scroll down to the 'Backups' section. Check the box labeled 'Encrypt local backup.' A prompt will appear asking you to create a password.
Set your encryption password
Enter a strong, memorable password in the prompt. You must remember this password to restore from this backup in the future; Apple cannot recover it if you lose it.
Note: Use a password manager to store this credential securely.Initiate the backup
Click 'Back Up Now' at the bottom of the General tab. The system will now create an encrypted archive of your iPad data on your computer drive.
