Step by step
Adjust brightness via Control Center
Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open the Control Center. Locate the brightness slider, indicated by the sun icon, and drag it upward to the top to increase intensity.
Note: If the slider moves but the screen remains dim, continue to the next step.Disable Auto-Brightness
Navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Scroll to the bottom of the list and toggle off the Auto-Brightness switch to regain manual control over the light sensor.
Note: Auto-Brightness often dims the screen to conserve power in low-light environments.Check True Tone settings
Go to Settings > Display & Brightness. Check if True Tone is enabled; if so, tap the toggle to turn it off to see if the color temperature is affecting your perception of brightness.
Note: True Tone adjusts color based on ambient light, which may make the screen appear warmer or dimmer.Disable Reduce White Point
Open Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Verify that the Reduce White Point setting is turned off. If enabled, move the slider all the way to the left to ensure maximum white intensity.
Note: Reduce White Point is an accessibility feature specifically designed to dim the screen's brightest colors.Exit Low Power Mode
Go to Settings > Battery. Ensure that Low Power Mode is disabled. When active, this feature automatically reduces screen brightness to extend battery life.
Note: Low Power Mode is indicated by a yellow battery icon in the top-right corner.Perform a forced restart
If settings changes do not resolve the issue, press and quickly release the Volume Up button, press and quickly release the Volume Down button, then press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears. This clears temporary cache files that may affect the display controller.
Note: This will not delete your data.
