Step by step

  1. 1 min

Enable Developer Options and USB Debugging

Navigate to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times until you see the confirmation message. Return to Settings > System > Developer options and toggle on USB debugging to allow command-line access to your file system.

Note: Keep your device unlocked to authorize the RSA fingerprint prompt when prompted.
  2. 1 min

    Initialize the ADB shell connection

Connect your Android device to a computer via a USB cable. Open your terminal or command prompt, type 'adb devices', and confirm that your device serial number appears in the list followed by the word 'device'.

Note: If the status shows 'unauthorized', check your phone screen to grant permissions.
  3. 2 min

    Identify cache directory utilization

Enter 'adb shell' to access the command-line interface of the device. Execute 'du -sh /data/cache' to determine how much storage is occupied by temporary system logs and cache fragments.

Note: Exercise caution; only target directories confirmed as temporary or cache.
  4. 2 min

    Clear application and system cache

Exit the shell and run 'adb shell pm trim-caches 999999999999' to force the system to clear cached data for all installed applications. This command triggers the system maintenance service to reclaim storage without affecting user data.

Note: Some applications may reload data upon first launch after this operation.
  5. 1 min

Perform a manual cache partition wipe

Power off the device. Hold Volume Down and Power simultaneously to enter Recovery Mode. Use the volume keys to navigate to 'Wipe cache partition' and press the Power button to confirm.

Note: Ensure you do not select 'Wipe data/factory reset', as this deletes all user content.
