Step by step

  1. 15 sec

    Access the System Settings

Open the Settings app from your home screen or app drawer. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select System.

  2. 30 sec

    Locate Gestures menu

Within the System menu, tap on Gestures. This screen contains all interface-related input configurations for your device.

  3. 30 sec

    Choose Navigation mode

Tap on System navigation. You will see options for Gesture navigation and 3-button navigation. If your device supports it, 2-button navigation may also appear as an option.

  4. 45 sec

    Apply the preferred setting

Select the radio button next to your desired navigation style. The device interface will update immediately to reflect the change.

Note: Selecting 3-button navigation adds a permanent bar to the bottom of your screen with Back, Home, and Recents icons.
  5. 60 sec

    Fine-tune gesture sensitivity

If you selected Gesture navigation, tap the gear icon next to the selection. Adjust the Back gesture sensitivity slider to determine how far from the edge of the screen a swipe triggers the back action.

Note: Lower sensitivity prevents accidental triggers when using other apps.
