How to set up a Google account on Android

Step by step

   Open system settings

   Unlock your device and open the Settings app. Scroll down the menu until you locate the Passwords & accounts section.

   Note: On some device skins, this menu may be labeled as Users & accounts.

   Initiate account addition

   Tap Add account. Select Google from the list of available providers. You may be prompted to confirm your identity via PIN, pattern, or biometric authentication.

   Enter your credentials

   Input your existing Gmail address or phone number in the provided field. Tap Next, then input your password when prompted.

   Note: If you do not have an account, tap Create account to register a new identity.

   Complete security prompts

   Verify the login via the two-step verification method associated with your account. This may involve a confirmation tap on another device or a verification code sent via SMS.

   Accept terms and services

   Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Tap I agree to finalize the integration. Your Google account will now appear in your device's account list and begin syncing.

   Note: Select which services, such as Contacts or Drive, you wish to synchronize immediately.
