You will need
Stable Wi-Fi connection, Google account credentials

Step by step

  1. 1 min

    Verify Network Connectivity

System updates require a high-speed, stable Wi-Fi connection. Toggle Airplane Mode on for ten seconds and then off, or switch from cellular data to a verified 5GHz Wi-Fi network to rule out carrier interference.

Note: Ensure your device is not currently connected to a metered or public VPN.
  2. 1 min

    Clear Google Play Services Cache

Navigate to Settings > Apps > See all apps. Locate Google Play Services, tap Storage & cache, and select Clear cache. This removes temporary data blocks that frequently cause update check failures.

  3. 1 min

    Reset Network Settings

Corrupt network configurations prevent server communication. Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. Tap Reset settings to clear all saved network configurations and establish a fresh handshake with update servers.

Note: This will remove all saved Wi-Fi passwords and paired Bluetooth devices.
  4. 1 min

Set Date and Time to Automatic

Incorrect time stamps trigger security certificate mismatches during server requests. Navigate to Settings > System > Date & time. Ensure Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically are toggled to the On position.

  5. 2 min

    Force Restart and Re-check

Perform a hard reboot by holding the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device powers off. Once restarted, go to Settings > System > Software update and tap Check for update again to initiate the request.

Note: If the error persists, check the manufacturer's official support page for regional server outages.
